WIP UNREAL - GAME

THE 
LOST KITTEN

The big trip was supposed to be a short, pleasant sailing turn
 for everyone, including the family cat, of course. 
But things didn't go as planned, and a severe storm hit the sailing Boat and as fate would have it, Kitty went overboard and disappeared into the high waves.

On the following pages, I'll take you along on the journey of how I created the game and everything I've built and developed along the way. This page is more of a blog and of course, far from finished (will it ever be?).

In the beginning there were references and starting Block out.

What helped me the most, aside from the internet, were the many "Why don't you take a vacation in the Philippines?" Facebook posts I kept receiving. I collected the best pictures and used them as a template on my second monitor with the brilliant program PUREREF to build the landscapes in Unreal Engine.

What started as an exercise turned out to be something bigger, 
but the experience and handling of Unreal grows with it.

The ​Island
Waterfalls/Beaches/Rocks

There was a separate file with 15-25 pictures just for beaches and rocks.The more images you use, the clearer the overall picture of your idea becomes.

The idea of ​the game

A cat is stranded on an island and quickly realizes that it is a special island, one that was inhabited by cats who left behind ancient inscriptions and statues to help her find a way back home.

The player must therefore find things, interpret messages, and avoid dangerous situations.

Modeling the cat, additional rigging and texture creation, 
also the Walk/Run and Jumps cycle were done in Maya.

For the gromming part I used Side FX Houdini
